TAKE BACK THE NIGHT

Call for a feminist demonstration on April 30, 2026; meeting point: 8 p.m. at Schlossplatz; WLINTA* only

Violence against women, lesbians, intersex, non-binary, trans, and agender people (WLINTA), from everyday hate to feminicide, here in Dresden and around the world—enough is enough!
We are all living in turbulent times: gains that feminists have fought for over decades now face rollback. This is happening while we are still confronted with misogyny and sexualized violence on a daily basis. Abortion keeps getting criminalized, and the rights of queer people are massively attacked. Trans people, in particular, are being targeted in this backlash.
In wars, and in ecological and social crises, sexualized violence is deliberately used as a weapon against our bodies. WLINTA people affected by poverty are pushed to the margins of society.

Women are subjected to years of psychological, physical, and sexual abuse by their own (ex-)partners—as highlighted in the widely publicized cases of Collien Fernandes and Gisèle Pelicot. Almost every day we hear of feminicides, such as the brutal killing of 21-year-old Emma last year near Dresden. Misogynistic and anti-queer oppression is evident everywhere and every day—the problem is systemic.

Social media is thrusting reactionary gender roles onto us and promotes „trad wives“.  They want to confine women to the private sphere and force them into the roles of mothers and housewives! We won’t stand for it!
We won’t let this happen, and we’ll fight back against this repression—join us in the streets!

We want to fight for an anti-fascist and anti-capitalist feminism! Our feminism is intersectional: We oppose biologistic, racist, anti-queer and anti-semitic rhetoric. We will stand together, shoulder by shoulder, in all the different ways we are plagued by patriarchy.

Today’s world often is harsh and hostile. This makes our compassion and comradeship all the more important.
Let’s show kindness and solidarity!
Let’s take to the streets together and take back the night!
Let’s make sure that shame switches sides!
Let’s unite our anger, our agony, our affection—and let’s smash the patriarchy!
Jin, Jiyan, Azadî!

We call for creative protests. Gather your gang and get organized!

WLINTA* only means for women, lesbians, trans, inter, non-binary, and agender people, as well as for everyone who does not identify as endo-cis-male
